Overview

Yat Yat Fa Restaurant, nestled in the industrial enclave of Taman Industri Bolton, Batu Caves, offers a refreshing take on traditional Malaysian kopitiam culture. This spot caters primarily to locals and visitors seeking authentic flavors rooted deep in the region’s culinary heritage. Its unpretentious setting spans two connected shop lots, creating a spacious yet casual environment where communal dining thrives.

The heart of Yat Yat Fa lies in its diverse menu, featuring beloved staples like pork noodles enriched with fresh ingredients such as bitter gourd and Chinese yellow wine, which infuses the broth with an intense, aromatic depth. This particular dish stands out—its broth robust and comforting, appealing to connoisseurs who appreciate nuanced flavors from classic Chinese cooking influences. Other highlights include the versatile mixed rice (杂饭), prawn noodle varieties, cheese toast, and traditional kopitiam essentials like kopi and salted fish fried rice duck, ideal for breakfast or lunch near the iconic Batu Caves.

Dining here is a straightforward experience. Customers place orders and pay at the counter, reflecting the informal kopitiam tradition, though some might find this system less intuitive at first. The friendly presence of the owners and attentive culinary team adds warmth to the visit, making it more than just a meal but also a glimpse into local hospitality.

Yat Yat Fa appeals to a broad audience: office workers, families, and travelers craving hearty, no-frills Malaysian fare with a nostalgic touch. Despite its industrial setting, the restaurant maintains cleanliness and offers ample seating. Parking can be found along nearby streets, with helpful guidance available from staff to ease any hassle.

While some customers note the kopi leans sweet even when adjusted, the overall food experience remains satisfying. It's the kind of place suited for those who enjoy traditional kopitiam dishes delivered with sincerity and authenticity, especially after a morning hike at Batu Caves or a casual neighborhood meetup.

Kopitiam is OK. I have just tried curry laksa all the time. It is reasonable and normal curry with clear and not pekat but no cockles. Not the best but still ok in my opinion as there isn't much choice around here. Beware that staff still very free and ordering need to go counter and order and pay at counter. Basically I am not aware and eating without drink. That was bad and is my first time experience at self order kopitiam around this area.

Delightful find for pork noodles but popular kidneys ran out. Freshly cooked with bitter gourd, the bowl was nourishing. Friendly Lim chef can assist with parking problems here.

Chinese wine pork noodles RM12 The broth is superb, yellow wine was so thick and made the broth super delicious. If you're the fans of yellow wine aroma and strong taste, you definitely like it. The owners both are friendly Coffee shop close on Sunday. Environment is clean.

Try out these pork noodles. Supposed to be good as it sold out very fast, especially the pork kidney in yellow wine. Easy parking. Easy to get a table as this kopitiam occupied 2 shops. Order from the stall. I found the owner helpful. As for drinks you need to order and pay at the cashier. Food came shortly. I only order the normal without the spare parts. Soup was good. Plenty of ingredients. Decent. Will come back to try the yellow wine with pork liver. RM 9 for a small bowl. For the wine version it cost RM 14.
